Our group of 3 couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Valeria! We were there on a two week cycle trip and every day we ventured out on a different route to explore the surrounding countryside and hilltop towns. We made sure to make it back in time each day to spend some time relaxing by the amazing pool in the comfortable lounge chairs. We shopped at the local stores and markets, and cooked all our own meals in the well equipped kitchen. There was a good gas BBQ to use, and a huge dining room to enjoy our meals. There were two soft seating outdoor areas, one in the morning sun and another overlooking the pool for appies and drinks in the afternoon. The bedrooms were generous, the beds were so comfortable and the ensuite bathrooms were beautiful and so clean. The Villa really made our time in Puglia so enjoyable and Jackie really helped us out in so many ways with directions, local information and ideas of restaurants and shops in Martina Franca.
Villa Valeria was perfect for our group. The outdoor pool area was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for 10 people. ( we only had 6). Location was also great with just a walk into Martina Franca old town with a great selection of restaurants. We also utilised the private chef option for a night and had a beautiful meal prepared and served - leftovers for the next day! The only suggestion I would make is to have more pillows- if you are used to sleeping with 2. Thanks so much Jackie for your organisation and kindness!
This is our 5th trip to Puglia over the years and we always enjoy ourselves. Jackie was exceptionally kind and a helpful source of advice and information. We will miss Martina - until the next time.
The property was a dream. We spent our days by the pool or at lidos by the sea and our nights exploring gorgeous towns surrounding the charming Martina Franca. The food options surrounding the property were limitless and our host, Jackie, gave us the best recommendations. We could not have asked for a more wonderful stay.
We spent two wonderful weeks in Villa Valeria. The property was amazing and seemed like an oasis in the middle of a thriving town. We enjoyed the swimming pool and facilities at the property. There was lots to see and do within an hours journey time (including two coastlines). The support and advice from Puglia Holiday Rentals was also really good. We did olive oil and wine tasting from their suggested activities. Will hope to return one day.
We rented the villa with 2 other couples and it was a fabulous stay! The place is stunning and best part it I'm right in town. Jackie the property manager is great and communicated with us promptly, Only suggestion I had was to provide toiletries since we were coming international and had to run out in the morning to purchase. Other than that tiny detail, this is one of the best villas and accommodates 10 people very comfortably!! We hired the chef Lucrezia one night based on Jackie's recommendation and she was excellent!
We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Valeria during the first week of September, and our experience exceeded all expectations. From the very beginning, Jackie from Puglia Holiday Rentals went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was nothing short of perfect. She was there for us, whether it was late-night chats during the booking process or warmly welcoming us at 1 am when our flight arrived (thank you so much Jackie!) . Jackie also provided invaluable recommendations for local restaurants and nearby attractions, enriching our trip with her insider knowledge. On our departure, our deposit was promptly returned the same day, a testament to the professionalism of the service. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a delightful surprise - a well-stocked kitchen, complete with coffee, tea, milk, water, bread, wine, olives, and more. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel instantly at home and meant we could have a very much needed cup of coffee the first morning and a snack before we had a chance to find a local shop! The villa itself, along with its meticulously maintained gardens, is nothing short of magnificent. If you're seeking luxury, style, and the convenience of being in the heart of town, Villa Valeria checks all the boxes. The grandeur of the property is complemented by its practicality, making it the perfect place to unwind. The swimming pool was a highlight of our stay, and we were pleased to see it regularly cleaned, while not heated, the water was still warm in Sept! We'd like to extend our gratitude to Giuseppe and Donatella, the friendly housekeepers who were always helpful and it was really good to have them live close by within the property. Jackie, Giuseppe, and Donatella truly made our stay memorable. The villa is secure, with ample parking, and conveniently located within walking distance of the charming center of Martina Franca. Our week was filled with exciting sightseeing, yet we couldn't help but wish for more time to relax by the fabulous swimming pool and explore the beautiful gardens. Rest assured, we're already looking at dates for our next visit - Villa Valeria has left a lasting impression, and we can't wait to return soon!
We had an absolute wonderful time at the Castle. Pool was incredible - we loved every minute of our Italian stay. Thank you for sharing an amazing space!
An amazing week by the pool with our family and extended family. 30 degrees every day and loved having aperitvi in the old town.
We both explored Puglia and relaxed at the lovely villa. Jackie, G and Donatella took wonderful care of us. We will be back
Beautiful property and an amazing stay! Loved the whole region. Thank you.
What a special place and unique to stay! Although we adventured out on day trips each day to explore much of Puglia, we still made great use of the pool and outdoor lounging areas (even the table tennis). Basing ourselves here was a delight and it's just steps away to explore the central historic village (and a couple fantastic coffee bars). The property has absolutely everything you could possibly need/want, and so much more. Side note… Our flight was super delayed and late but our host, Jackie, warmly greeted us and ensured we would be comfortably settled in.
Fantastic villa in Martina Franca. Jackie at PHR did a great job with communication both prior to and during our June stay. She set up a dinner cooked for us at the villa as well as a cooking lesson, and we greatly enjoyed both. Also had laundry done by Dontatella - not inexpensive, but well done and worth it. As for the villa itself - it's even more impressive in person than in the pictures. Very large, well kept grounds. Fabulous, big pool (not heated). New, comfortable seating options around the pool. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds are very comfortable and A/C worked great. Plenty of dining areas both inside and out. We enjoyed having some great restaurants, cafes, meat and cheese shops, all within a 10-20 minute walk while staying in a private villa. There is some street noise, but not really an issue, especially given the benefits of being in town. Martina Franca is a great central location for day trips throughout Puglia. We even did the easy drive to Matera one day. Minor recommendations - allow for payment by credit card, so don't have to do currency conversion and wire transfer (even if we have to pay the credit card fee). And better ping pong equipment at the villa (which was being ordered during our stay, but didn't arrive in time for us to use). All in all a fabulous, 5 star week - would definitely book with Jackie and PHR again for our next visit to Puglia.
un grand merci pour l'accueil et pour l'aide de Jackie, Giuseppe et Donatella. La maison est très bien et située près de la ville dans cette très belle région
Located in a beautiful area. We've greatly enjoyed ourselves and had quality time with the family, despite the rainy weather. Lovely beds and great service and restaurants. Astonishing how it feels like having your own private park by walking out of your gate and finding yourself in a busy city. Thank you all for your fabulous hospitality.
to celebrate a family birthday. The 'Castello' - both inside and outside was beautifully furnished and there was ample space for a large family. Some of us even managed a swim in the huge pool, despite the temperature! Thank you to Jackie and Barbara for all their assistance.
We had an absolutely fabulous time in the villa and look forward to the opportunity to return. Everything was impeccable! Jackie was the best!! She helped with everything from cooking lesson to wine and gin delivery!! Could not ask for anything or anyone better. Thank you for sharing your villa with us!
We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous home. Jackie was incredibly helpful and responsive to our inquiries and gave us great suggestions for things to do. This was an unforgettable experience that our group of seven will cherish for a long time ahead
We could not have asked for a more helpful host Jackie went over and above expectations helping us plan the week. She arranged restaurants for us for dinner, and even arranged a private cook to come to the villa to prepare two dinners based on local recipes The villa and grounds are impeccably maintained , and the location is central for day trips. The house is like a fairytale castle with spacious rooms, and comfortable furniture. Restaurants are walkable. Don't miss restaurant Coco Pazzo- the best meal in Puglia
It's difficult to describe how good this property is, marvellous, stunning, fantastic, all of them are correct. It's the enormity of the property and grounds that's difficult to comprehend until you actually walk around the place. I would strongly recommend not playing hide and seek here….it could go on for days!! The kitchen had everything that we needed and the 2nd fridge is a great addition. The outdoor seating and dining areas are large and comfortable as you would expect. The ones to the front of the property were used every morning for breakfast whilst the ones at the rear were used in the afternoon and evening times. We rarely sat inside although there are several large dining tables spread across 3 different rooms should they be required in the cooler months. The pool, which is the longest and deepest I've used for quite sometime, was very welcome on those 30 degree sunny afternoons. OUR HOSTS Jackie greeted us on arrival and talked us through all of the important stuff and then gave us great information about Martina Franca and the local area. She also booked a restaurant an olive oil tasting and a taxi for us, which we do thank you for. Giuseppe was rarely seen but kept the place clean and tidy at all times….I suspect he's a bit of an "early bird".. Finally there are some great restaurants, bars and cafes within 15 mins walking distance, we particularly liked Gotha with its little garden court yard eating area. We did a couple of wine tastings, one in M Franca and one just a short drive away (this one included food), both are well worth a visit.if you want to try the local grapes. All in all a brilliant week, thanks Jackie and Giuseppe for all your help during our stay.
Our extended family of six adults (three couples) enjoyed the privilege of staying in this remarkable property for five days this September. It would be difficult to overstate the quality and scale of this villa. It truly is a castle. The pictures can't capture the spaciousness of the interior, e.g. the height of the ceilings. We typically explored Puglia during the day returning to cool off in the pool in the late afternoon and cooking at home most evenings. The kitchen is more well equipped than any of the other seven rentals we've visited over the years. It's a nice bonus to have the second fridge! As noted in the property description there is no AC for the ground floor bedrooms so that would be a nice addition if a proper solution presents itself. Location was nice for short walks to village facilities and we easily visited Alberobello, Monopoli, Torre Canne, Polignano, Ostuni, etc. Jackie was very helpful and readily available. We appreciated her helpful hints and professionalism. Giuseppe keeps the property looking great and was always busy but never intrusive. All in all, a fabulous stay! Thank you.
Our party of 4 couples, stayed here for 2 weeks in July/August. It is a simply stunning villa set in huge gardens with lots of places to relax, both in the sun and shade. The outside is definitely the star of the villa. There are so many places to sit and relax. The grounds are immaculate and the pool is a good size to actually swim in. However, some of the outside furniture was tired and needed replaced and a few more loungers would allow everyone to have one at the same time. We enjoyed having some of our meals out on the terrace where the table would easily sit 10. Inside, the 3 bedrooms upstairs were large and had air conditioning but 2 of them shared a bathroom. Unfortunately, the 2 bedrooms downstairs were very small and did not have air conditioning. We did request fans for these rooms but for the standard and quality of this luxury villa we would have expected these rooms to have air conditioning given the cost of it. This was a big disappointment especially in the heat of the summer. As a base, Villa Valeria was a really good base to explore the surrounding areas. Would recommend this for a large family or group of friends staying in this area.
The service that Jackie provided was really friendly and efficient. She told us that the photographs of the house we were renting didn't do it justice. When we arrived we were blown away by the house. It is a wonderful place to relax and close to the lovely old centre of town. The outdoor area of the house is extensive with several areas in which to sit either in shade or sunshine. One evening we used the services of a cook(recommended by Jackie) and had a most memorable meal. We will definitely return.
An amazing place. Absolutely enormous. Really clean. Quality furniture and fittings, everything works. Great pool. Easy to walk into the town which we did 4 out of 7 nights for dinner. Martina Franca has a beautiful centre. Lovely other places in Puglia to visit too from this central location. Jackie, who is lovely and really helpful, will initially meet you and give you recommendations and will even arrange reliable taxis if required. She is always on hand on WhatsApp throughout the week. We'd recommend this place to friends and family and may well come back for more ourselves.
We came to Puglia for our daughters wedding weekend in Cisternino. After the wedding 8 of our family stayed at Villa Valeria for a week. The pictures look stunning on this site - but you can't appreciate the scale. The Villa is behind private automatic gates and up a long drive. The grounds are amazing. Lovely and green - like an oasis! Yet you are right in the town for easy walks to restaurants, the main square and the fantastic weekly market. The bedrooms are spacious and well spaced from each other. We loved sitting out listening to the birds singing in the trees. This Villa really is a Gem!!
Like staying in a fairy tale, immaculately clean, fantastic grounds and activities. Loved the pool and walking around the property. We have local family so it was convenient location for a quick travel to visit them. Overall amazing. Couldn't have asked/wanted anything more. Thank you and we have made some amazing family memories
Loved the property. Just on edge of Martina Franca, car hire very reasonable. Great to arrive back to such an idyllic place after visiting lovely places.
We spent a week with our family of 6 at Villa Valeria. The house is spacious and comfortable. The location is great with a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Martina Franca. The grounds around the house are a park in itself, a real treat and luxury knowing you are in the city itself. Jackie of Puglia Holiday Rentals helped us navigate anything we needed assistance with and communicated promptly. We highly recommend staying here with your family, exploring Puglia from this location and booking a private dinner with Sophie Grigson through Jackie.
My lovely wife and I got married here in September and it was amazing.
Jackie and Sheree organised it for us and with the help of our caterers we had a day we will never forget.
The villa is beautiful and so peaceful considering it is almost in the centre of the town.
Some of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been, to so that sums it up.
If you are looking for a holiday villa to stay in this is the place.
Our week's stay at Villa Valeria was a long way beyond our expectations. The web site photos didn't prepare any of us (four couples) for its splendour, from the grand entrance avenue, to the turrets and the pool and magnificent gardens (which incidentally have 66 places to sit excluding walls around flower beds)! Although nearby towns and villages are great to visit, we loved Martina Franca, real Italy, with many places to eat, drink, shop - beautiful baroque buildings (and much earlier houses in the old town). It's very difficult to find anywhere to stay in Puglia with space, a pool and so on, where you don't need a car to go exploring locally. Guiseppe the on site caretaker cheerfully looked after the garden and pool and took away the recycling. House (including well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms) and garden were immaculate on arrival. Finally - Jackie was helpful and professional from the outset; we were in touch several times during our stay - always quick helpful responses. We all loved Puglia and Villa Valeria.
We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful villa and a stunning location. Jackie sorted everything thing out down to the last amendment to our shopping list and every other thing we needed. Guiseppe looked after the villa and pool without being in your face. All in all a wonderful experience thank you.
What a beautiful property. Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Valeria. The location was ideal as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and site seeing in Martina Franca. I think I looked at every villa in Puglia and frankly this is the only one where you do not require a car. The pool was great on hot afternoons after taking a day trip or walking in town. The rooms were great size and our entire family enjoyed our stay. Having the two refrigerators was ideal. The grounds were immaculately manicured and Guiseppe who stays in a separate house on the huge property kept the area clean every day. Jackie, the property manager, helped us with transportation arrangements, stocked the villa before our arrival, arranged a boat trip and a dinner cooked at the property and was available any time we needed her.. She selected some wines for our stay and we enjoyed them all. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to those looking for villas. We all felt like we were staying Castle with manicured grounds and a beautiful swimming pool. A big thank you to Jackie for all of her help.
The villa is beyond anything I could have imagined, beautiful, comfortable, relaxed. The large grounds surrounding it make it a perfect place for a holiday with a group!
Beautiful interior rooms, comfortable and relaxing to enjoy the wonderful gardens and pool area, although the water was rather refreshing for this time of year. Lovely situation being close to the town to enjoy the restaurants and markets, but great to return to the calm grace of this lovely building. A wonderful break.
As soon as I arrived at the magnificent electric gates and looked up the driveway I knew I was going to have an amazing experience. The manicured gardens, the fabulous swimming pool, peace and tranquility, with bird song and yet the town was a short walk away. Inside I was astonished at the decor and fabulous mix of old and new. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds. Everything you would possible want to have for a wonderful, relaxing holiday. I would certainly be using Puglia Holiday Rentals again.. Wonderful.
