Lecce also known as the Florence of the South by the locals is a must see, with all its famous churches, architecture and not forgetting the ice cream at the shop Natale, the best in town.
Ostuni known as the "White City" with its rambling old town, tourist shops and many restaurants is also very interesting. Bring your camera, there are some great photos to be had here.

Much has been written about this UNSECO town with its streets packed with trullis pilled up on a hill and no visit would be complete without a stop here.

A gorgeous trulli house in a beautiful, quiet and rural location with a great pool, basketball and table tennis. We also enjoyed the outdoor pizza oven and BBQ! Our host, Terry, was really helpful and looked after us well.
If you don't do anything else, go to Lecce. Absolutely beautiful old city and it takes about 1 hour to drive there. Castellana Grotte also an amazing sight.
Local Eating out Just 3.6km from the Trullo, south on the ss47 is the Villa Reale. Lovely setting, eating out in the courtyard, clearly popular with 3 or more generations of Italian families. Ostuni was well worth a visit and a stroll around the old town.
We've loved staying here. The house is extremely well equipped, we've had everything we need and more. It's a very comfortable place to return to in the afternoon and keeps relatively chilly despite the outdoor heat (which peaked at 41 degrees during our stay). We still have after 2 weeks have not had the time to look at all the surrounding towns and sights.
