Holiday Villas in San Vito dei Normanii|Villas in San Vito dei Normanii
Traditionally an agriculturall economy but since the closure of the US airbase in the 1990s a thriving tourist industry has sprung up with encouragement of the local commune. The San Vito countryside is largely flat and is characterised by large vineyards and century-old almond and olive groves in a mosaic of land plots separated by long, low dry-stone walls.
The town is renowned for its love for the traditional music of Salento and the popular dances Pizzica and Taranta.
